From Mars missions to exoplanet expeditions: How to future-proof your career for the cosmic job market

I love topics of space and interstellar travel. I love reading science fiction on these topics. I love contemplating about the future of humanity beyond the Earth. I love watching science fiction movies set in space.

I also love teaching employability skills at the undergraduate and graduate levels at my university. Writing your CV, preparing yourself for a changing job market, adaptability, upgrading your skillset.. I love these topics. I love learning about and teaching these topics.

In this article, I will attempt to combine these two interests. I will do this by thinking about employability beyond the Earth and at the cosmic scale:)

We are about to become a multiplanetary species. We are on our way to Mars, and other planets in our solar system. I believe we will also go to other stars and planetary systems in the future. How can we prepare ourselves for this future?
