We live in an era where a few taps on a smartphone can summon virtually any product or service to our doorstep.

We are addicted to on-demand products and services.

Food delivery?

Books?

Ride-sharing?

Streaming?

Instant shopping?

All at your fingertips.

Convenience has become the ultimate currency.

Amazon, Uber, and Netflix have become the big magic powers of this brave new world.

But as we revel in this frictionless existence, a crucial question emerges: What price are we really paying for this convenience?

In this article, I will analyze the on-demand economy and its implications.

The Rise of the On-Demand Economy

The on-demand economy has exploded in recent years.

According to a report by PwC, the global market for on-demand services is projected to reach $335 billion by 2025, up from $75 billion in 2017.

This staggering growth is reshaping not just how we consume, but how we live, work, and interact with one another.
