As an academic, writer, and eternal student of life, I’ve always been fascinated by the power of small changes.

But it wasn’t until I hit rock bottom — burnt out, creatively stifled, and questioning my life’s direction — that I truly understood the transformative potential of daily habits.

Since the pandemic, I have developed small quirky habits to transform myself — one moment at a time.

These are the weird, wonderful, and sometimes downright bizarre practices that reshaped my reality.

1. The 6 AM Philosophy Alarm:
I set an alarm for 6 AM every day. Not to wake up, but to contemplate one philosophical question. Sometimes I’m awake, sometimes it interrupts a dream. But that moment of deep thought in the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness has led to breakthrough insights in my research and writing.

2. Backwards Walking Meditation:
For a few minutes each morning, I walk backwards through my home, focusing on each step. This practice sharpens spatial awareness, challenges cognitive patterns, and has dramatically improved my problem-solving skills.
