Gordon Ramsay is a British chef, restaurateur, television personality, and writer. He is widely recognized as one of the most successful and respected chefs in the culinary world. Ramsay was born on November 8, 1966, in Johnstone, Scotland. He was brought up in a council house, and his father was a swimming pool manager and welder.
Ramsay initially trained as a professional football player for the Scottish football club Glasgow Rangers. However, an injury at the age of 19 forced him to abandon football and pursue a career in cooking. He enrolled in North Oxfordshire Technical College and trained under chef Marco Pierre White at Harvey’s in London.
Throughout his career, Ramsay has worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants, including Le Gavroche and Aubergine in London, before opening his first restaurant, ‘Restaurant Gordon Ramsay,’ in 1998, which earned three Michelin stars. Since then, he has owned and operated several highly successful restaurants, including Plane Food at Heathrow Airport, Union Street Café, Heddon Street Kitchen, and Maze, among others.
